Director of Nursing Education and Research

Advance the art and science of nursing at one of the world’s foremost teaching medical centers.

As Director of Nursing Education, you will develop programs that evaluate and support safe, effective nursing practice. You’ll regularly review and update training goals and standards, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices. And you’ll work closely with clinical departments to determine and meet education and competency needs.

This position supervises daily operations of the division of nursing education staff. This includes development of nursing leadership staff, as well as implementation of a structure for research and research utilization. You’ll also investigate options for external funding to support a variety of professional initiatives.

This position will require your participation in hospital-wide committees as a designee of the Chief Nursing Officer/Senior Vice President.

Qualified candidates will possess a doctoral degree in nursing or a related area with a minimum five years’ clinical or leadership experience. Current NYS licensure is required. Ideal candidates will have membership in multiple nursing professional organizations.
