Demystifying the Grant Review Process
Hosted by the CANS Mid-Career Special Interest Group and CANS Science Committee
March 8, 2023 | 1:00 – 2:00 PM ET
During this event, panelists shared their insights into what it means to serve as a peer reviewer for national/federal grant proposals, what to expect from the process, and what it means to succeed as a reviewer. Each panelist brought a unique perspective – consisting of a non-NIH grant reviewer; a NIH reviewer who recently joined the ranks; a senior NIH reviewer; and an NIH Scientific Review Officer. The panel also guided attendees to gain a better understanding for the value of serving as a grant reviewer and be better prepared to seek opportunities to serve as reviewers.
