The Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science is pleased to present the 2005 special topics program, “Clinical Intervention Research to Improve Health”. This program is designed for nurse or other health scientists across the continuum of expertise and experience in both academic and service settings. We invite all senior investigators actively involved in intervention research as well as those interested in strengthening their research skills for developing and testing interventions.
Conference Objectives:
- Discuss the interface of the NIH Roadmap, the international guidelines for the Consolidated Standards of Reporting Trials (CONSORT) and healthcare clinical intervention science, particularly from a nursing perspective.
- Profile analytically, the key challenges for planning and conducting intervention research that cuts across animal, human and care systems design, including:
- Maintaining design integrity;
- Recruiting and retaining an unbiased sample with an emphasis on under-represented groups and addressing health disparities;
- Identifying key options for data and safety monitoring as well as data management, analysis, and interpretation.
- Envision an agenda for future clinical intervention research.
