SPECIAL PARTNERS SESSION

PLEASE BOOK TO ARRIVE EARLY FOR THE 2007 COUNCIL SPECIAL TOPICS CONFERENCE!

WHY?

To attend a SPECIAL SESSION ON TUESDAY EVENING October 23, 2007 from 7:30 TO 9 PM at the Omni Hotel

WHAT?

Dr. Joan Shaver, Dean, College of Nursing, University of Illinois-Chicago will discuss Collaborations: The Key to Building New Knowledge followed by dialogue within small groups on strategies for collaborations among nursing organizations.

BACKGROUND:

In the NINR Strategic Plan the need to increase research capacity was identified, and this was reinforced at the 2006 National Nursing Research Roundtable. This was followed by a special session held at the 2006 State of the Science Congress to explore ways that the Council, Regional Research Societies, and Nursing Specialty Organizations could collaborate to expand research capacity. This 2007 Special Session will build on this base by dialoguing further on strategies, including such initiatives as:

  1. a standard research curriculum;
  2. a matchmaking service to link experienced researchers, clinicians, and specialty organizations;
  3. a clearinghouse service to provide a comprehensive list of available research funds;
  4. pooling resources to increase utilization of grant funding.

COST:

ALL ARE WELCOME TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS SESSION.

You do not need to register for the Special Topics Conference on October 24th to attend this session.
