National Congress
on the State of the Science in Nursing Research
October 7 – 9, 2004
J.W. Marriott Hotel
Washington D.C.
The Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS) is pleased
to present the National Congress on the State of the Science in Nursing
Research, “Nursing Science – Working Toward a Healthier
Nation”.
In an effort to showcase the contributions of nurse researchers and
influence the national agenda, the Council for the Advancement of
Nursing Science (CANS) along with the National Institute of Nursing
Research (NINR) and the nation’s top nursing organizations have
joined together to co-sponsor this biennial event.
Nurse researchers from around the country will join with recognized
experts, funders of nursing research, policy makers, and academic
leaders to explore emerging scientific discoveries related to nursing
practice.
The Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS) is an open
membership council of the American Academy of Nursing. CANS promotes
“better health through nursing science” and acts as a
national networking and advocacy entity for nursing scientists and
supporters of nursing science.
The goals of CANS:
- be a strong voice for nurse scientists at the national and international
levels to support the development conduct and utilization of nursing
science;
- share research findings across individuals and groups in scientific
and lay communities;
- facilitate life-long learning opportunities for nurse scientists.
