Purpose Statement
Join the Council for the Advancement of Nursing Science (CANS) on March 8, 2023 for a webinar titled, Demystifying the Grant Review Process, on peer review of grant proposals. Panelists will share their insights into what it means to serve as a peer reviewer for national/federal grant proposals, what to expect from the process, and what it means to succeed as a reviewer. Each panelist brings a unique perspective - consisting of a non-NIH grant reviewer; a NIH reviewer who recently joined the ranks; a senior NIH reviewer; and an NIH Scientific Review Officer. The panel will also guide attendees to gain a better understanding for the value of serving as a grant reviewer and be better prepared to seek opportunities to serve as reviewers.

Learning Outcomes
As a result of participating in this event, attendees will—
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the grant review process at the National Institutes of Health and other large-scale funding entities.
  • Identify how to seek out opportunities to serve as a grant reviewer.
