Definition of Early Career
Early Career designation is not specifically defined by factors such as age, level of educational training, or work experience. Instead, “Early Career” encompasses research scholars who are early on in their research trajectory. CANS members who identify as students, predoctoral trainees, postdoctoral trainees, and new faculty (typically within 3-5 years of terminal degree or postdoctoral fellowship completion) are considered Early Career Members and are encouraged to actively engage in the Early Career Special Interest Group.
