Dr. Usha Menon (University of Arizona)
Dr. Menon is Professor and Associate Dean of Research and Global Advances in the College of Nursing; co-PI and Participant Engagement Director of the NIH-funded All of Us Research Program (formerly the Precision Medicine Cohort Enrollment Center award) at the University of Arizona and adjunct Professor in the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the University of Gondar, Ethiopia. Her research is on the reduction of disparities in cancer prevention using rigorous theory-based models of inquiry among aging and vulnerable minority populations. Dr. Menon has garnered $20 million in research awards. Her global health focus includes: nursing workforce and curriculum development in Ethiopia and India, cervical cancer screen and treat programs, and identifying genotypes of HPV infection in sub-Saharan Africa and India. She mentors junior faculty in nursing and other health science disciplines such as medicine, microbiology, and pharmacy, in the U.S. and Ethiopia, with a focus on translational research and team science. Her role on the All of Us program is to develop robust models of community engagement with NIH at the overall Consortium level and focus on engagement of participants for the UA-Banner site with emphasis on minority populations.
